This week we are celebrating a locum favourite, our negotiation feature. Not sure how to use the negotiation feature on your app? Say no more, this blog will take you through everything you need to know about how to use the feature effectively!

What shifts are negotiable, I hear you ask?

Any shift that has been created and is starting in the next 30 days. Please note: the ability to negotiate is at the employer's discretion.

For a quick demo on how to use rate negotiation, please see below.

How do negotiations take place?

Beside the Apply button on the job shift page, a Negotiate Rate button (both on App & Desktop) will be displayed. Clicking this will open a modal containing the following fields:

RN 1

This will generate a box where you can input your desired rate and should look like the picture below:

RN2

How much can be negotiated?

Locums will want to negotiate as high as possible and this could lead to potentially submitting unrealistic rates. Being able to accurately predict what is a 'fair' rate for that shift will lead to more realistic negotiations, less back and forth and ultimately more bookings.

The upper limit for the negotiable rate will be based on the following rule: Each shift will have a max rate based on the market rate (the highest rate that the company has ever offered). We would encourage locums to negotiate a fair rate.

Thanks for reading, have a great day!
