As a registered pharmacist, you will be aware that to legally work in a pharmacy you need to have a valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate. This is also an essential document that is required to register with the Locate a Locum platform.
What are police checks used for?
Police checks such as the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) help pharmacies make safer recruitment decisions for their staff who will be working with vulnerable groups, including children.
If you have a police check already it must:
- Display your job title as a locum pharmacist
- Have been issued in the last 12 months
Depending on where you are based there are different bodies who carry out the police checks and there are often two types of checks you can get, we only accept copies of the Enhanced or Continuous Update services listed below :
England and Wales
- Enhanced DBS
Scotland
- PVG
Northern Ireland
- Enhanced AccessNI
If you don't have a police check yet, the good news is we can help you get one! Get yours today by sending an enquiry to info@locatealocum.com and a member of our team will get back to you ASAP.
How much does it cost?
The cost for Enhanced DBS Check is £61 and the Post Office charges £4.20 for a document check.
Will Locate a Locum reimburse me?
When you work 10 shifts with Locate a Locum we will reimburse you for DBS checks up to £62.50. All you need to do is send proof of receipt to info@locatealocum.com and our team will be able to issue the payment.
