Last year saw plenty of changes come to Locate a Locum. What began as a simple app to help locum pharmacists find shift work with ease, has transformed into the perfect home for both locums and their employers to discover, advertise and manage shifts - and we don’t plan on slowing down in 2019.

From finding new ways to help employers and bringing out different features to help locums manage their time, here are a few of our favourite highlights from 2018:

We launched our brand new Employer App

Far from being an app just for locums, we made sure that employers felt welcome in the Locate a Locum family too. This new version lets pharmacy employers post a job for a single or multiple branches to the 4000 registered locum pharmacists using Locate A Locum. They can then review applicants profiles to decide the right candidate and also check in on their other live, pending and booked shifts - all without ever leaving the app.

We gave you a Locum Diary

Keeping track of your schedule can be tricky when you have multiple shifts, at different times and locations during the month. You may also find it difficult to keep track of how much money you are due to bring home each month, or maybe you just want to let any potential employers know that you will be unavailable during holiday time.

Our diary app lets you stay on top of your schedule more effectively than ever before. Online and in the app, you can view your shifts by month and also check up on your total income for each month, as well as mark off your availability for employers to see.

We brought you another new feature: My Locums

One of the many excellent features of our platform is the ease with which pharmacy employers can communicate with locums. Now, employers can enjoy that same pain-free communication with their other locums by simply inviting them to Locate A Locum and they'll be able to book and communicate with them all without paying any fees for bookings.

We released new info about typical locum rates

We did some digging into the pay rates for locum pharmacists across the UK and found that the average rate to earn is £22.05 an hour. Canterbury was our highest paying area, while Armagh in Northern Ireland came in lowest. How does your location compare to others in the UK?

We found out all about YOU in our big Locum Survey

From the distance you travel to work, to the reasons you choose a particular shift, we got to the bottom of what makes our locums tick. As it turns out, 77% of you are in locum pharmacy to begin with because of the liberating flexibility, and we don’t blame you. Check out more here.

We have high hopes for 2019, and intend on making it our biggest and best year yet.

Thanks for reading, have a great day!
